Climate change matters to Oxfam, because it perpetuates and deepens the very poverty and discrimination that we work to overcome. Our campaigns urge the government and people in power to do more to prevent further climate destruction and help our Pacific whānau who have done the least to cause climate change and are bearing the worst of its effects. Our climate adaptation programmes help farmers improve their agricultural yields by using sustainable cultivation methods and crop diversification so they can earn a steady, sustainable income and pay for their children’s school fees, improve their homes, and save for emergencies.
